Only Jio, BSNL and held on..Telecom companies collapsed

According to the latest reports of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), in 2019, except for BSNL and Reliance JIO, the number of subscribers of all other companies has decreased significantly. The report mentions that BSNL is the leading operator in wireline services with ten million subscribers at the end of December, followed by Airtel with four million subscribers.

Vodafone Idea or V also recorded the highest number of rural subscribers at fifty-one per cent, TRAI said. JIO is the top internet service provider with a market share of fifty-one per cent of total internet users, TRAI revealed. Subscription to Airtel is twenty three percent. JIO is number one in the list of broadband service providers. As of December 31, 2019, Prakaram has 380 million users and Airtel and Vodafone Idea have 140 million and 199 million users respectively.

RELIANCE JIO started offering their services in the wireline segment and added one million subscribers from December 2018 to December 2019. By the end of December 2019, TRAI also stated that the market share of public entities BSNL and MTNL has decreased by 60 percent. Both BSNL and Marnil have revealed a sharp decline in their wireline subscribers in 2019, following the entry of JIO.

But TRAI had said in a separate report that Airtel has added more users than Reliance JIO till August 2020.
